Several days back, the Department of War posted its fifth tranche of UAP records through the PURSUE portal — 41 documents, photos, and videos spanning 1950 to the present. To our eye, this batch breaks no new ground; it reads more like housekeeping than disclosure, and we'll keep watching the rolling releases for anything that changes that assessment.

But the story most worth your attention last week didn't come from a government portal or a magazine feature — it came from our friend and ally, investigative journalist Ross Coulthart. In a recent episode of his program Reality Check Q&A, Coulthart alleges that the Department of War, acting on President Trump's direct authorization, has been running a covert UAP intercept operation at White Sands Missile Range in New Mexico since late 2025. According to sources Coulthart says include individuals within the administration and personnel involved in the operation itself, the government effectively absorbed the work of Skywatcher, a private UAP research group whose sensor and detection work at nearby Sierra Blanca, Texas was shut down by a Defense Department flight restriction in November 2025.

Coulthart alleges the military has adopted Skywatcher's electromechanical signaling and psionic summoning techniques to attract, detect, and — using directed energy weapons including high-pulse microwave systems — shoot down objects exhibiting the classic “five observables” associated with UAP: no visible means of propulsion, instantaneous acceleration, hypersonic velocity, and the like. He further alleges that February's shutdown of El Paso's airspace, publicly blamed on cartel drones and a stray party balloon, was in fact triggered by an encounter connected to this same operation.
Most seriously, Coulthart alleges that President Trump himself is not getting the full picture from the agencies running this operation on his behalf, and that some personnel involved may be tied to the legacy programs long alleged to have hidden recovered non-human technology from elected officials. He reports objects have been downed both inside the U.S. and across the Mexican border near Juárez, and raises real concerns about civilian safety — including the possibility that a medivac aircraft crash near White Sands was caused by the very directed-energy weapons this operation is deploying. As Coulthart frames it, this may be an attempt by the President to work around the legacy program's grip on UAP technology — one that could itself be compromised by the very gatekeepers it's trying to bypass. He's calling for full congressional accountability and public transparency, arguing that an operation of this scale and risk cannot continue under cover of a fictional drone narrative.
